House rules and resident expectations.
House Rules Agreement
These rules outline the expectations, responsibilities, and standards that guide daily life at The Grove KC properties.
The Grove KC properties are not affiliated with any other recovery programs or housing opportunities.
The goal is to keep each home safe, honest, stable, and recovery-minded so residents can rebuild daily life with accountability and dignity.
Resident responsibilities
Residents should review these expectations carefully with management before move-in and throughout their stay.
Residents are contractually obliged to maintain active participation in a recovery program, including, but not limited to, attendance at meetings, sponsorship, and fellowship activities.
The use or possession of alcohol, mind-altering drugs, or drug paraphernalia is strictly forbidden. Violation results in immediate dismissal with no refund.
All residents must maintain gainful employment during their stay.
Program fees are due on the 25th of the preceding month. Each payment applies to the full upcoming calendar month, from the 1st through the last day of that month. Late payments may incur a $50 fee, and a $5 fee applies to returned or failed bank payments. Chronic late payment may result in dismissal.
A $200 security deposit is required before move-in. It is refunded after move-out if you lived in the home for at least one full payment period, gave 30 days' written notice, and followed all house rules, less any unpaid fees, fines, or damages. If you do not move in, the deposit is forfeited.
Residents share responsibility for the upkeep and cleanliness of common areas and common household items. Weekly chore assignments are mandatory.
Assigned chores must be completed within the specified time frame. Failure results in a $25 fine.
If you plan to be out of the house overnight, house management should be notified, and all contractual obligations must be fulfilled.
No alterations or appliance use in bedrooms without management consent. Unauthorized changes may result in charges or dismissal.
Theft, violence, unlawful behavior, or any inappropriate conduct, as determined by management, leads to dismissal.
Guests must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Overnight guests require house and management approval.
Smoking inside is prohibited. Improper disposal of cigarette waste may result in a $50 fine or dismissal.
Residents who have an aftercare program as part of their recovery plan are contractually required to remain active in that program at least once a week.
Management may regain possession of premises if abandoned by a resident. Personal property left behind may be disposed of with no liability.
Management may check the state of rooms to maintain safety and adherence to house rules.
Violation of any rule, at any time, may result in immediate dismissal and removal, with no refund, at the discretion of The Grove leadership, staff, or property owner. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy and Terms of Service.
